Will Yates Weed 'n' Feed kill my lawn?
Yates Weed 'n' Feed combines two herbicides which selectively target broadleaf weeds. The product will not harm your lawn if the directions for use are followed. For example, applying the product over the correct area and ensuring the lawn is not moisture stressed. It is important to check the variety of lawn that you have and ensure that it is suitable for use on that variety. Is it safe to use Yates Weed 'n' Feed on all lawns?
Yates Weed 'n' Feed is safe on most lawns such as Kikuyu, Couch, Queensland Blue Couch but it is not safe on Buffalo as well as some legume based lawns such as Strawberry Clover or Dichondra.
What should I use on my Buffalo Lawn?
Yates has a specially designed hose-on formulation for buffalo lawns that does not contain dicamba. Yates BuffaloPro Weed 'n' Feed contains a different combination of selective weedkillers (bromoxynil and MCPA), making it safe for use on most Buffalo lawns such as Sir Walter, Sapphire and Kings Pride. ST varieties of Buffalo such as ST85 are more susceptible to the herbicide and this product should not be used on them.
Is Yates Weed 'n' Feed safe to use around pets and children?
It is best to keep pets and children out of the area until the spray has dried. Applying on a day when weather conditions favour drying can reduce this time off your lawn.
I have a few smaller weeds in my lawn, is Yates Weed 'n' Feed the best option?
Yates Weed 'n' Feed is an easy to apply solution to treat a large range of weeds over a large area quickly. Does Yates Weed 'n' Feed contain fertiliser?
Yes, Yates Weed 'n' Feed does contain the nutrients, nitrogen and iron, which encourages healthy green lawn growth. Yates also provide both hose-on and granular Lawn fertilisers for longer term controlled release feeding of your lawn.
What if I get Yates Weed 'n' Feed on my garden plants?
It's important not to allow the spray to contact wanted garden plants. If the spray accidentally gets onto garden plants, immediately wash off with a hose to help reduce potential damage. Spraying on a day with low wind well help in reducing this. If you think it will be difficult to achieve this, you can dilute the product into water and apply through a watering can as described on the label.

Weeds will die slowly and it may take up to 3 weeks before effects appear. Over applying can damage the turf. If you have applied at the correct rate you will need to wait and monitor. How much of Yates Weed 'n' Feed do I need to apply?
This will vary lawn to lawn. How much you need to apply is based on the size of your lawn. The best way of measuring your lawn is using a program such as Google Earth or using a measuring tape. Yates Weed 'n' Feed packs will indicate how many square metres of lawn the product should be applied over. For best results it is very important to apply the right amount of product over the right area of lawn.
I don't like to spray, can I use a granular product?
Yes, Yates also have granular weedkillers such asYates Weed 'n' Feed granular. They're applied by hand and work via burning the leaves of the weeds. The bag label provides instructions on how and how much to apply . The granular product is left on the leaf for 2 days while it burns the weeds. This can be a hazard for pets and kids during this time, so Yates recommends using the hose ons if you have kids and pets.
Can I mow my lawn before or after application of Yates Weed 'n' Feed?
We recommend not to mow your lawn for 7 days before or after applying Yates Weed 'n' Feed.
Can I apply if my lawn is under stress?
Applying any product to a lawn under stress can cause damage to the lawn. Lawn stress can occur in several ways. The majority of stress is due to a lack of water or soils that are not absorbing the water.
